TFR7 - The Last Sprite Prototype 1969 Austin Healey Prototype Sprite Roadster HAN9-R-250 TFR7 was the LAST sprite prototype built. It included all of the best technology developed through the Healey's sprite racing efforts at Le Mans, Sebring, and Targa Florio. Constructed in 1968/69, TFR7 was the 7th sprite built to race in the Targa Florio. Sadly, BMC pulled their support before it could race the '69 Targa. Geoff Healey detailed this car in several pages in his book "More Healeys". As a result BMC pulling their support, the car was sold to Ed Bussey, of Waldron motors, an MG dealer in the US. Ed was sponsoring endurance racing at Sebring and Daytona, and placed this car in his stable for it's first race at the 1970 12 hr Sebring. Photos below show the car as it was completed in the Healey's Experimental workshop in Warwick. Original Certificate of Origin 1770 12 Hrs of Sebring This Page is Currently Under Construction |
